"Jessica, I just had to share what happened after our session the other day. After you left my home office I spent the next couple of hours handling the stuff that I knew what to do with (toss, recycle, file, put away, etc - like you suggested). The next day I worked a couple of hours on organizing but I can't really explain it, I just did it - I didn't even have to think about what I was doing, I was just going along and dealing with each thing as it came up. Then yesterday I only had an hour so I did what I could, again not thinking about it. This morning I walked into my office and it's a completely different place. Everything is picked up off of the floor, the couple of piles on my desk are neat and I know what is in them, and everything else is put away - my "To File" basket is empty and I'm going to get rid of it right now, as per your suggestion. I can't believe it but my office IS ORGANIZED! How did that happen?!
When I originally called you to come help me get organized I thought, well frankly, that it would be hard and take lots of time and money. Little did I know that what you would help me with, which turned out to be the source of the problem, was in my head and not my stuff. Looking back it makes perfect sense but I just didn't think it was because I didn't believe I was an organized person. I mean, I know I believed I was somewhat disorganized and that I could never live up to my mother's expectations, but that should have been something I overcame. Guess not.
So thanks again. The two hours you spent with me were worth much more than I paid you. It was easy, quick, and the results are amazing! I will recommend you to all of my friends, even the organized ones. And I will call you again when I'm ready to tackle the next limiting belief - you know the one, weight loss." - J.C., Denver CO
I worked with this client to change her limiting beliefs about being disorganized, having unrealistic expectations, and knowing that she was capable.
